Big Soft Ginger Cookies

You’ll Need:

2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1/4 c. molasses

How To:

Preheat oven to 350F.

Sift together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in an egg, then stir in water and molasses. Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls and roll then in sugar. Place cookies 2” apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
