Bacon, Cheddar, & Chicken Rice Bake

You’ll Need:

4 tbsp. butter
1 medium onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp. seasoning salt
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 tbsp. flour
3 1/2 c. chicken broth
3 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. uncooked long grain rice
3 c. cooked chicken
1 1/2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 c. Real Bacon Pieces

How To:

Preheat oven to 350F.

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat and cook onions until translucent. Add garlic, seasoned salt, salt, and pepper. Add flour and mix well. Cook until it starts to color.

Stir milk and broth into flour mixture. Turn heat to medium high and add one cup cheese and continue to whisk as mixture comes to a simmer. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Add rice and lower heat to medium-low. Cook until the rice absorbs most of the liquid and is tender, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes.

Add chicken and bacon to sauce mixture. Pour into a 9×13-inch casserole dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.

Place in oven and cook 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and casserole bubbles.
